admirerers are mourning the passing of nelson mandela -a pact was felt arou >>> your realtime captioner is mrs. linda m. macdonald. >>> world leaders and millions of admirers are mourning the passing of nelson mandela, a man whose impact was felt around the globe including right here in the bay area. good afternoon, i'm michelle griego. a day after the death of nelson mandela, much of the world has paused to reflect on his legacy and also his accomplishments. cbs reporter tara mergener is live in washington with more. >> reporter: mandela was an international icon. today millions are mourning his passing and celebrating his remarkable life. the flag is after half-staff at the south african embassy in washington. outside his home in johannesburg, mourners are gathering to remember the man they called madiba. a memorial service will be held tuesday and the outpouring of love says something with the caliber of the man who led the country out of apartheid. >> we'll always love madiba for teaching us that it is possible to overcome hatred and anger to build a new nation. >> reporte

trading floor. get real-time market scanning wherever you are with the mobile trader app. from td ameritrade. >>> welcome back to "squawk on the street," and the last edition of the "santelli exchange" for the week, what a week it's been, what a day it's been. listen, when i look at today's report, i come up with generic issues. overall, definitely a decent report. as a matter of fact, it's more than decent. now, let's look at the 7% unemployment rate. that is a good thing, because a good chunk of that drop didn't have to do with shrinkage or scotty beaming the unemployed to another universe. it occurred with the label force participation rate moving up a bit, albeit from very low levels. but it's a start. the other thing i really liked was we were up 4 cents in hourly wages on a year-to-date basis, up 2%. not bad. not bad. but i have to say the one then that makes me a little cautious, and many of our guests have talked about it, is the volatility of household survey. yin and yang, and, of course, the furlough, dropping them out, bringing them back, and huge revisions at s begin

it again, light post, it goes down. that is realtime there. again, the edited, that smoke, that edit leaves out a 60-second gap there. if we see the 60 seconds, we see horror below those hedges because those men obviously would have been trying to get out, and nobody was there outside to help them. it wasn't until the flames were rising and the smoke was above those hedges that you're looking at now, about two minutes later, that anyone arrived with a fire extinguisher or to try to help them. we've heard of heroic efforts to try to pull the men out because it was too late. the friends were at a charity event at rodas' car shop when they heard the krocrash. it was a couple, three minutes by the time they got there. by the time they got there, that's what the smoke looked like right there. it's the lonely 60 seconds of no smoke, no fire in the porsche carrera gt when those men were inside that vehicle obviously unable to get out. we'll hear this afternoon from the coroner. we'll hear this afternoon from the coroner. sorry, i was going to tell you we'll get preliminary autopsy results perhaps
